Cumulative Empties – March and April 2021

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Can you believe that it is already May? Today I have my cumulative empties for March and April. I was *so* close to finishing up a few more things too, but I’m sure they’ll appear in my next empties post.

Skincare:

I think that I did great over the past two months to finish up so many things from my skincare stash!

Pure Savy Come Hell or High Water 3-In-1 Micellar Water *Cert Clean Jury Box 2019-2020* – I found this micellar water to be a little on the soapy side, but it worked really well for removing eye makeup. I have several eye makeup remover products in my stash, so I don’t need to even think about purchasing this.

Versed Dew Point Moisturizing Gel Cream – *I purchased this* I loved this light gel moisturizer. I would likely repurchase this one as it played so well with makeup. A great day moisturizer for my normal to dry skin. Review

Sothys Hydra3Ha Hydrating Comfort Cream *PR package* – This was great for the cold winter weather when my skin needed extra hydration at night. It is a little more scented that my personal preference. Review

Poetic Blend The Hero Oil and The Ghost Oil *Giveaway Prize win* – I loved both of these facial oils. I think that the brand is on hiatus (if someone knows for sure, please let me know) so I don’t think that I could purchase. Review and review

Andalou Naturals Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk *Subscription Box* – This was such a lovely creamy cleanser. I would purchase this if I didn’t have a few more cream based cleansers to finish up. Review

Be On Me Cleansing Mousse Sensitive Skin *PR package* – I loved this foaming cleanser, it was super gentle but super effective. I would purchase this once I use up a few more cleansers from my stash. Review

Lowen’s Make Room Balm *PR package* – This is a balm for stretch marks and scars, but I used it all winter on my poor dry hands, and it worked amazingly well. Their balms are really great, would definitely need one in my stash before winter! Review

Haircare:

I only managed to finish up two haircare products, but progress is progress.

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Conditioner *PR package* – This was an amazing conditioner, it worked really well for hydrating my hair. I would love to try more from this brand – hopefully they will be selling in Canada at some point. Review

EVOLVh UltraShine Moisture Conditioner *I purchased this, but I’ve also received PR from the brand before* – Such an amazing conditioner. It hydrates, it smells amazing. I’d buy this again. I’m almost finished the matching shampoo. Review

There you have it! Everything that I’ve finished over the last two months. Have you finished up much lately?

Cumulative Empties Aug to Dec 2020 – Hair, Body and Makeup

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Earlier this week I shared my cumulative skincare empties, and today I have my haircare, body care an makeup empties (not decluttered makeup, that was a separate post). I didn’t finish up nearly as much in these categories as I did with my skincare stash, but I still feel like I’m making progress in using up products. I will link to my original reviews and let you know if it is something I would purchase / re-purchase or not (by purchase I mean eventually, as my goal is to only buy products when necessary).

Hair and Body Care:

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Shampoo – This was a part of a larger PR package from the brand. The matching conditioner has a few uses left in it, so I’m sure it will be in my next round of empties. I really love the Perfect Repair Shampoo – it makes my hair so soft and healthy feeling. I would purchase a full size of this if I can get it here, or order online from a Canadian website.

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly – This was from my Petit Vour subscription. I liked this a lot, it worked well for my wavy, frizz prone hair. I would love to get a full size of this eventually – once I use up my current stash of styling products.

Sothys Pro-Youth Body Serum – This was a PR product. This is more like a rich body butter than a serum. Amazing for dry skin, and left my skin silky smooth. It is on the pricy side though, and I have a few body lotions / body butters to use up in my stash.

Makeup Empties:

Essence Cosmetics Lips Go Wow Plumping Lip Gloss – I LOVE this lip plumping gloss. It doesn’t sting or burn like a lot of lip plumpers. I plan on getting another one if they still have them at Shoppers / Pharmaprix.

Smashbox SuperFan Mascara – This was a free deluxe sample with purchase. Its a nice mascara, but didn’t hold a curl well for me, so I would not purchase a full size. I think that it is a great mascara if you don’t have stick straight lashes like I do!

So there you have it, the final empties for 2020. I’ve already finished up a few things this month, so I might return to a monthly empties format as long as I finish up a minimum of five products each month.

I’ll be back next week with some Bath and Body product reviews.

NatureLab Toyko Perfect Repair Shampoo & Conditioner Duo

Hello, hello – welcome to A Brash Attitude!

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Shampoo & Conditioner

Today I’m reviewing the NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Shampoo & Conditioner travel duo – I received the travel sized set in my PR package with the Perfect Shine Duo set. [info in italics taken from the NatureLab Tokyo website]

Let’s take a look at the Perfect Repair Shampoo:

Innovations in botanical technology help put an end to hair drama by addressing the root cause: the scalp. An infusion of Smart Keratin brings extra reinforcement and protection to the deepest layers of the cortex while Stem Cells from the resilient Bamboo plant extend the lifespan of hair’s growth cycle and strengthen strands from the inside out. Argan and Prickly Pear oils protect from environmental damage and restore a healthy look and feel. Damaged hair is visibly improved and new hair sprouts stronger.

And now let’s look at the Perfect Repair Conditioner:

Make amends with your color treated tresses. Vitality-boosting Bamboo Stem Cells are infused into an antioxidant-rich plant-based conditioning treatment that shields hair from further UV and thermal damage. Smart Keratin strengthens and protects from cortex to cuticle, restoring every strand. Damaged hair is visibly improved and new hair sprouts stronger.

I really like this Shampoo and Conditioner duo – my hair feels so clean and healthy and soft to the touch! I let my hair air dry and forgot to put any taming product in, and my hair still turned out really nice when it dried – my hair was wavy and under control.

The scent is mild and is a blend of Japanese bamboo, green tea and cypress – it is a delicate and subtle scent – which is my preference for hair care products.

Have you tried this one? I really like it a lot. I can’t decide which one I like more, the Perfect Repair or the Perfect Shine Duos.

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Shine Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a review of the Perfect Shine Shampoo & Conditioner duo from NatureLab Tokyo. This set is a part of a PR package that was sent to me to try out. [info in italics taken from the NatureLab Tokyo website]

NatureLab Tokyo 1

Rosa Takagi was on a quest to create the most effective natural beauty products in the world. She also demanded that they be clean and affordable. To do that, she drew upon time-tested Japanese beauty rituals and worked to elevate them with the latest scientific technology. The result is NatureLab’s Perfect Haircare.

Inspired to achieve perfect harmony between traditional Japanese beauty rituals and future-forward clean technology, founder Rosa Tagaki set out to create a curated line of innovative haircare, formulated on the premise that healthy hair starts at the scalp. Bringing together the brightest brains in clean beauty, Rosa’s team of scientists and cosmetic chemists harnessed breakthrough botanical technology to unlock active, nutrient-rich plant stem cells proven to repair and maintain scalp health, improve follicle strength and promote growth at the cellular level. Stem cells from apple, bamboo, argan and grape are uniquely paired with pearl extract, quinoa protein, and other naturally-derived ingredients to deliver targeted, clinically proven results, including improved shine, texture and volume. Introducing NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Haircare, nature’s ultimate haircare hack.

NatureLab Tokyo 2

First off, I want to comment on the packaging of this cruelty-free line – it looks like laboratory flasks – I think that this is such a great concept. And I love it when shampoo / conditioner bottles have pumps! The line is free of parabens, sulfates, gluten, mineral oil and phthalates.

NatureLab Tokyo 3

Let’s take a closer look at the Perfect Shine Shampoo:

Let your inner light shine through with a Platinum Fiber-infused shampoo that reveals hair’s natural reflective properties. Antioxidant-rich Stem Cells from Grape regenerate scalp papilla cells and revitalize shine. Hyaluronic acid seals in moisture while Pearl Extract stimulates enzymes for an iridescent finish. Shine on.

And now the Perfect Shine Conditioner:

Elevate shine to mega-watt status with a Platinum Fiber-infused conditioning treatment that delivers a weightless, glossy finish. Antioxidant-rich Stem Cells from Grape work behind the scenes to guard against oxidative damage and regenerate scalp papilla cells. Hyaluronic acid seals in moisture while Pearl Extract provides an iridescent luster. Shine on.

NatureLab Tokyo 5

I really like this shampoo and conditioner set – it makes my hair feel clean, soft and shiny. It has a very mild scent of violet and almond – not over powering at all – which I love as I detest over-scented hair products!

My hair is looking less dull, and believe it or not, it is making my wavy hair a little easier to tame into soft beachy waves instead of a tangled, dull, mess.

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Shine Shampoo & Conditioner

Reviews to follow on the Perfect Repair Shampoo & Conditioner set, and Treatment Mask samples once I’ve had a chance to try them out several times.
