Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencil that came in my March Petit Vour box. I finally got around to testing it out! [info in italics taken from Petit Vour]

Alima Pure Natural Eye Pencil

A long lasting, highly pigmented natural eyeliner pencil. Natural Definition Eye Pencil is filled with soothing natural oils, waxes, and Chamomile extract to protect the delicate eye area. This eyeliner glides on smoothly, blends beautifully, and lasts all day.

Alima Pure Natural Eye Pencil

On the Petit Vour website it shows three shades: Coffee (rich cocoa brown), Ink (carbon black) and Patina (shimmering taupe). I received the shade Coffee thankfully as I have way too many black liners in my stash!

Its super pigmented, long wearing, and applies smoothly too! The Coffee shade is a gorgeous deep dark brown. Perfect for when you just don’t feel like wearing black liner!

Alima Pure Natural Eye Pencil

Inkling Scents Roll-On Perfume Review in Sultry

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Inkling Scents Roll-On Perfume in Sultry that came in my March Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Inkling Scents Sultry

Wearing this smooth fragrance is the art of seduction. The base is creamy sandalwood and white amber, the heart is lotus flower, orchid and Bulgarian rose, while the top is silky vanilla. The blend is provocative, but clean. This mix is deep and rich enough to leave you with a sense of pleasure.

This sounds like a perfect scent for me – a mix of woody / spicy and floral notes!

Inkling Scents Sultry

Perfume reviews are very subjective in my opinion. It is a combination of body chemistry and personal preference.

Sadly, this scent does not mix well with my body chemistry and pulls almost musky on me – the floral notes disappear completely! In the bottle it smells really pretty, so I might just use it to scent clothing, because it is quite lovely when not directly on my skin!

Inkling Scents Sultry

Ingredients: Jojoba Oil, Sandalwood Essential Oil, White Amber Essential Oil, Lotus Flower Essential Oil, Bulgarian Rose Essential Oil, Vanilla Natural Isolate

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly Review

Hello, hello!

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly

Today I’m reviewing the Styling Jelly from MoMi Beauty that came in my March Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

This innovative jelly stays flexible and maintains movement, allowing easy styling and a no-frizz finish. Every hair type can achieve different textures using the jelly, which blends organic hydrating olive oil and clarifying apple cider vinegar with floral and gem-essences for inner and outer balance.

  • Pump a small amount into palms
  • Evenly apply to damp or air-dried hair
  • Style as desired
  • To add volume and body to fine hair, apply to lengths from root to ends
  • For medium hold: scrunch into wet hair and diffuse with a blow dryer
  • For some extra hold to style: pump a small amount into palms and style as needed
  • To tame fly-aways: pump a small amount into palms and very lightly apply to smooth strands

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly

I’ve been using this to add volume and tame frizz in my wavy hair. It feels hydrating yet lightweight. Mega waves! It kind of feels like a cross between a hair gel and a facial serum texture-wise. And the scent is very minimal (almost non-existent) to my nose! I really like it a lot!

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Deionized Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Calendula Extract, Pro-Vitamin B5, Organic Guar Gum (Natural Plant Based), Organic Sweet Orange Oil, Organic Lemongrass Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw unfiltered), Organic Green Tea, Organic Sage Herb, Organic Bilberry Leaf, Xanthan Gum (Natural Gum), Lotus Wei blend of organic essential oils of Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender), Anthemis nobilis (Roman chamomile), Rosa damascena (Rose absolute), Citrus aurantium (Neroli absolute), Nelumbo Nucifera (Lotus) flower essence, gem essence of Rose Quartz, Leucidal (Radish root ferment).

Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic from my March Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic

We make it easy to be good with this simple step in cleansing that requires no water and no rinsing. Fortified coconut, calendula and grapefruit waters, this powerful tonic helps capture and lift away dirt, oil and impurities without harsh rubbing or over-drying. For all skin types

First off, this smells very strongly of coconut, which I have an aversion to. It smells like bad suntan lotion to me – but if you like coconut scented products, then you will probably like this.

I only used this micellar water once because it triggered a reaction! The one rare occasion that I didn’t do a skin patch test first – my skin felt like it was burning and turned red! I immediately ran to wash it off with my most gentle cream cleanser and then put on a soothing facial moisturizer and managed to calm my skin down within about an hour.

Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic

I don’t see any obvious sensitivity triggers for my skin in the ingredient list so I’m assuming that it is something in the “parfum (natural)” blend in the ingredients that is not specified. I’m not willing to test this on my face again. I’ve had no problems with any of their skincare that I’ve tried before, so I was quite surprised!

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | aqua (purified), sorbitan oleate decylglucoside crosspolymer, decyl glucoside, glycerin, cocos nucifera (coconut) water, calendula officinalis (flower) extract, citrus grandis (grapefruit) fruit water, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, parfum (natural).

Petit Vour Unboxing + First Impressions March 2020

Hello, hello!

My March Petit Vour box finally arrived on April 15th! I often show my Petit Vour box on my InstaGram, but here on the blog you will get the unboxing AND first impressions. Full reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test things out. [info in italics is taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour March 2020

I have temporarily cancelled my Petit Vour subscription, so I will not be getting the April box. I plan on re-subscribing as soon as life returns to some state of normality.

Petit Vour March 2020

Petit Vour is a cruelty-free and vegan monthly subscription box with four (occasionally five) products. The subscription is $18 USD a month in the US, $23 USD for Canada, and $25 USD for the rest of the world. With the exchange rate @1.3804 my box cost me $31.75 CAD this month.

Let’s take a closer look:

Petit Vour March 2020

MO MI Beauty Styling Jelly (travel size 30ml $22 USD, full size 100ml $38 USD)

This innovative jelly stays flexible and maintains movement, allowing easy styling and a no-frizz finish. Every hair type can achieve different textures using the jelly, which blends organic hydrating olive oil and clarifying apple cider vinegar with floral and gem-essences for inner and outer balance.

Petit Vour March 2020

This sounds interesting, especially the no-frizz finish.

Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencil (0.04oz / 1.14g $18 USD)

A long lasting, highly pigmented natural eyeliner pencil. Natural Definition Eye Pencil is filled with soothing natural oils, waxes, and Chamomile extract to protect the delicate eye area. This eyeliner glides on smoothly, blends beautifully, and lasts all day.

Petit Vour March 2020

Sigh. Another  eye liner. I have so many liners in my stash! Hopefully it is a good one. Thankfully it is in the shade Coffee (rich cocoa brown) and not Ink (carbon black) as I have SO MANY BLACK EYELINERS in my stash!

Inkling Scents Roll-On Perfume in Sultry (sample size 5ml $15 USD, full size 10ml $25 USD)

Petit Vour March 2020

Oooh, this sounds like a scent that I will love!

Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic ( sample size 2 oz $5USD, full size 8oz / 236ml $12 USD)

We make it easy to be good with this simple step in cleansing that requires no water and no rinsing. Fortified coconut, calendula and grapefruit waters, this powerful tonic helps capture and lift away dirt, oil and impurities without harsh rubbing or over-drying. For all skin types

Petit Vour March 2020

Hopefully this will be a nice micellar water. I don’t like the ones that are soapy or leave a filmy feeling on the skin.

The March box is valued at $60 USD, which works out to be $82.82 CAD! I’m most excited by the Mo Mi Beauty Styling Jelly and the Inkling Scents Sultry Perfume!

Rahua Classic Shampoo & Conditioner – These were from my Petit Vour subscription. I liked them a lot. I’d like to try more from this brand – maybe for wavy/curly or dry hair. Review is here.

Cake Beauty The Posh Wash and The Soft Serve – These smell so good, and work well with my hair, so I’m sure I’ll eventually buy them again. Review is here.

Skincare and Makeup:

Empties March 2020 - Skincare and Makeup with Moor Spa, Sothys, Essence, Eyes of Horus

Moor Spa Supreme Cream – This was a PR sample. I mainly uses this cream at night, as I prefer something a little lighter in the day time if I’m wearing makeup. I have a few moisturizers in my stash to use up, so no need to even think about purchasing a full size. Review is here.

I always need a little hydration boost in the fall and winter months so this worked well for me. I have a few moisturizers in my stash to use up, so no need to even think about purchasing a replacement. Review is here.

Essence Lash Princess Waterproof Mascara – I really liked this mascara, and gave it a score of 6.75 out of 7. I  would definitely re-purchase this one. Review is here.

Eye Of Horus Brow Define – Another Petit Vour box product. This was my very first micro brow pencil. I’ve since purchased one from Essence to try out, but would love to get this one eventually. Review is here.

This is a really nice shampoo, I love the woody scent. It doesn’t lather super well – but thats to be expected with a lot of sulfate free shampoos. It is hydrating but not heavy, and makes my hair feel clean and soft.

Can also be used as a lightweight styling cream to smooth, tame frizz and flyaways, and add hold.

Rahua Classic Shampoo & Conditioner

I really like how this conditioner makes my hair feel. It really does work as a detangler, I can comb out my hair so much easier after washing and conditioning my hair.

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the 09 Deodorant Cream from Speak. It came in my February Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream

A gentle, yet effective natural deodorant with a creamy texture that glides on to give you satin-soft protection. An aluminium and baking soda-free formulation that’s great for sensitive skin. Features arrowroot powder, kaolin clay and magnesium as odor neutralizers and excess sweat moppers. A combination of butters and oils keeps the delicate underarm area soft and healthy. Lightly scented with lavender essential oil to keep you smelling fresh.

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you’ll know that I’ve made the switch to natural deodorant a few years ago, and have had various degrees of success using natural deodorants. Some work amazingly well, some are just ok, and some are not a good match for my body chemistry.

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream

I’ve had better luck using deodorants with baking soda in them as they tend to last longer for me, but because I have sensitive skin, I sometimes react to the baking soda. To reduce the chances of a reaction occurring, I tend to use a baking soda free deodorant on days that I’m working from home to give my skin a break.

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this natural deodorant works really well and it holds up all day! And it keeps my underarms a lot drier than most baking soda free formulas. My only complaint is that it doesn’t smell like lavender to me at all! It doesn’t really smell like anything.

Update March 19th – The Mister has started trying this deodorant out and he said that it works amazing for him even though he finds the cream application to be weird! He has a job where he is moving about (and sweating a lot) and so far, he has not been smelly when he gets home from work!

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Maranta Arundinacea (Arrowroot) Root Powder, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Magnesium Hydroxide, Kaolin, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil

Do you use natural deodorants?
