Mini Birthday Haul Part 2 – Herbivore, Tarte

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the samples (both deluxe and regular) from my mini haul (descriptions in italics are taken from the Sephora website):

The first of which I got using a promo code – the Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask – this one has been on my wish list to try for ages!

Herbivore Blue Tansy

This mask is designed to clarify and resurface skin with soothing blue tansy, naturally resurfacing white willow bark, and gently exfoliating fruit enzymes. It leaves skin soft and renewed, and skin gains increased clarity and smoothness with continual use.

Herbivore Blue Tansy

This is a lovely blue gel type facial mask. I did a patch test on my arm before testing it on my face, as I wasn’t sure how my skin would react. It really is a cooling and soothing mask, and my skin feels so soft and smooth after using. I’m sure that the increase in clarity will come with continued use. I’ll be adding the full size version to my wish list!

The second deluxe sample I got with my Beauty Insider points – the Tarte Brighter Days Highlighting Moisturizer.

Tarte Brighter Days Highlighting Mascara

Give skin a natural-looking glow with Brighter Days Highlighting Moisturizer. This lightweight facial lotion is formulated with 70 percent water and light-reflecting mineral pigments to quench dull, dehydrated skin while delivering a sheer veil of illumination and radiance. The sweat-resistant formula is perfect for before or after the gym, or even for faking an afterglow without the sweat session. It can be worn alone or under your makeup for a subtle sheen. This hypoallergenic multitasker works to soften, smooth, and deliver a long-lasting surge of moisture without clogging pores.

This is a nice light moisturizer with very fine mica in it that helps add radiance to the skin. Very gentle, and non-greasy. Will I buy a full size? It is nice, but isn’t a must have for me.

Now onto the free samples – perfumes – both have rose notes, perfect for spring!

Chloe:

The fragrance transfigures the mythic rose, infusing it with a resolutely urban spirit. Combined with magnolias and generous peonies, the rose becomes both honey-like and powdery; its petals blossom on the skin. Cheeky, free, and sophisticated, the scent breaks every boundary and vibrates with a woody tone—a signature rose that has become a legend.

I’m in love with this perfume, I love the rose notes in this one.

Stella:

The unique scent opens with top notes of fresh mandarin and frozen lemon, balanced with watery tones of freesia to create a soft, dewy feeling. An infusion of Bulgarian rose essence, crunchy violet leaves, and delicate peony petals brings a freshness to the feminine floral heart, while ambergris base notes reveal a subtle masculine undertone.

This is a perfume that I’ve always liked on other people but never really liked on myself. Until now! This one is also so lovely! I don’t know which one I love more!

Have you tried any of these items?

Mini Birthday Haul – Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Pepper

Hello, hello!

My birthday is next week, and every year I buy myself a little treat. This year, my little treat is from Sephora – of course the day AFTER I placed my order, I got my email about my free birthday gift so I still need to pick that up.

Sephora Birthday Haul - Briogeo and Bite Beauty

As you can see, I bought myself two main things – a full size of the Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave-In Defining Crème (originally reviewed the sample size here) and a Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in the shade Pepper.

I’ll be reviewing the rest in another post as I haven’t tested everything out yet. Onto the review!

Here’s what it says on the Sephora website:

Swipe on bold, creamy lip color with Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche. Created and crafted by hand, Bite’s small batch, low-heat process preserves a balanced blend of lip-quenching nutrients, vitamins, and omega oils that are essential for achieving healthy-looking lips. Made with 12 edible oils and triple milled pigments, this lipstick provides saturated lip color with weightless coverage and a citrus flavor made from fresh pressed fruit.

This is my first lipstick from Bite Beauty and I have to say that it is well worth the money – it is the most luxurious and smooth lipstick that I’ve ever owned!

The shade that I picked was Pepper – described as a dusty rose.

Birthday Haul8

It is such a perfect shade for spring! I absolutely love it, and can’t wait to add a few more to my collection! It is long wearing and comfortable on the lip.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, I purchased this!

Sephora Spring Anti-Haul

Hello, hello!

Today’s post is my anti-haul of the some of cruelty-free makeup launches from Sephora (all photos are screencaps from the Sephora website):

Tarte Make Believe In Yourself Eye and Cheek Palette $52 CAD

Tarte

I love Tarte, but I won’t be picking this one up. Why? Two main reasons, the first being that I probably already own dupes for all of the shades. And the second being the price.

Farsali Unicorn Essence $67 CAD

Farsali

This looks absolutely gorgeous. But at that price, it is not going to happen!

Nars Banc de Sable Highlighter Palette $62 CAD

Nars

Another stunning palette from Nars, but I already own some similar shades, and the darkest shade would be way to dark for my ghostly face!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Palette $62

Anastasia Beverly Hills

I like the concept, but I don’t like lip palettes, they are difficult to keep from getting messy. Give me lipstick in a tube or a liquid lipstick any day!

Will you be purchasing any of these new products?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: Nothing to disclose, this is my opinion only.

Sephora Wishlist – Makeup

Hello, hello!

Today I’m going to show you what is on my Sephora wishlist. Surprisingly, it is a small list of things that I need to go swatch at my local store. *All photos are taken from the Sephora Canada website*

Eyeshadow Palettes:

Anastasia Beverly Hills

Tarte

I’m torn between the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette and the Tartelette In Bloom Palette.

Lips:

Bite Beauty

Oh my, there are so many of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks that I need to go swatch! So far on my list are: Thistle, Taro, Sugarcane, Molasses, Chai, Verbena, Rhubarb, Sake, Fig and Pepper.

Face:

Tarte

Too Faced

Once again, I’m torn between two products, the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer, and the Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer (which was just reviewed by the lovely Stash Matters).

So there you have it, my current Sephora wishlist. Are you wishing for any of these products? What is on your current wishlist?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: Nothing to disclose, this is a wishlist, silly.

Urban Decay – Urban Vices (Sephora 500 point perk)

Hello everyone! Sorry for posting this later than usual, but better late than never 🙂

UD Urban Vices3

During the VIB sale at Sephora I noticed that they had a little box set from Urban Decay as a 500 point perk. I tend to hoard my points, so I actually had enough to get this little box set.

UD urban vices5The Urban Vices set contains four mini eyeshadows (0.8g) and a mini 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, and a single-use sample of the Primer Potion  in a cute little cardboard palette. There is a small mirror in the lid of the palette, which I do appreciate.

UD urban vices6

I really love the shades included in this little palette, they are very wearable, especially at this time of year. Swatches are done without primer (sorry, my primer seems to have run away). I don’t think that the photos below really capture the shades, they all are faintly metallic in finish. It would probably show better with primer.

My only complaint about this palette is that the eyeliner was jammed so tightly into the slot that I had to use a nail file to pry it out.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: I used my Sephora VIB points to pay for this palette, so technically I paid for it by shopping at Sephora.
