Sothys Echappée Parisienne Fall / Winter Makeup Collection

Hello, hello!

Today I’m showing you a few things from the latest makeup collection from Sothys that PozPub sent to me to try out. I received two lipsticks and a liquid liner from their newly launched fall /winter collection titled Echappée Parisienne. The Sothys Fall / Winter Collection is a glamorous and elegant makeup collection, inspired by Paris.

Sothys Fall Winter Makeup Collection

The packaging for both lipsticks is beautiful, a shiny, lacquer type finish that makes it so hard to photograph!

Sothys Fall Winter Makeup Collection

Rouge Intense 236 Bois de Rose Vaugirard (Rosewood) Satin Finish

Sothys Fall Winter Makeup Collection

This is a satin finish lipstick, feels very much like a Bite Beauty lipstick in terms of creaminess. I’ve been wearing this one a lot, it is a beautiful and wearable shade. This is a perfect rosy nude type shade.

Rouge Mat 340 Prune République (Plum) Velvet matte Finish

Sothys Fall Winter Makeup Collection

I have to say that the Rouge Mat Velvet lipsticks are one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks that I’ve ever worn. I really like the shade for days when I want a bolder lip. It is long wearing and highly pigmented.

Calligraphy Liquid Eyeliner

Sothys Fall Winter Makeup Collection - Calligraphy Liner

This is a smudgeproof liquid liner. Once it dries, it does not budge until you remove it! I like the brush tip, it makes it easy to do both fine and thicker lines. A perfect black liquid liner!

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, these are PR samples, however my opinion is my own and based on my own experience of using these products.

Sothys nOctuelle Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream Review

Sothys nOctuelle Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream

Hello, hello!

The weather here in Montreal has been cold, cold, cold! And my skin is not happy, it is drier than normal. When PozPub reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try out the Sothys nOctuelle Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream, I (of course) said yes!  [info in italics taken from Sothys website]

Sothys nOctuelle Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream

Night after night, this concentration of technology with a pleasant fragrance acts deep inside the skin to help it erase the visible signs of daytime damage caused by the environment.

Stabilized Vitamin C – To stimulate cellular activity and visibly reduce the signs of ageing

Detoxifying Complex: Shea Polyphenols and Yeast Extract – To boost the body’s detoxification systems

Extract of Nasturtium rich in A-Glucans – To revive cells through the optimal use of oxygen

Benefits: The skin is smoother as you sleep, and in the morning, appears uncreased and luminous. Wrinkles are smoothed, signs of fatigue seem to be reduce. Youthful radiance appears revived.

After doing my usual skin patch tests on my wrist, and then on my neck or chest, I began using the nOctuelle Detox Cream at night.

I feel that Sothys really shines in their anti-ageing formulations. Your skin will look and feel different when you wake up after using this overnight detox cream. It hydrates and brightens while you sleep.

Sothys nOctuelle Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream

The packaging is heavy plastic, and comes with a little spatula for application.

Sothys nOctuelle Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream

As with all Sothys skincare that I’ve tried thus far, I find that it is a little more scented than I prefer, but it doesn’t trigger a reaction, and then scent fades quickly as the cream sinks into my skin.

Sothys Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of one of the new products from the Sothys nO2ctuelle Range that was sent to me from Sothys Canada and Poz Pub Inc. The newnO2ctuelle  range is targeted for nighttime usage. [info in italics taken from the Sothys Canada press release]

Sothys nO2ctuelle Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask

Lack of sleep, hectic lifestyle and daily aggression, put a strain on skin every day. Sothys tackles this problem with its night range, which takes visible action to counter environmental factors of ageing.

Because there is twice as much cellular renewal activity at night than during the day, Sothys developed a trio of winning products, to help the skin erase the visible signs of daytime damage caused by the environment, and visible work against premature skin ageing.

Sothys nO2ctuelle Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask

The line includes the Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream ($109.50 CAD), the Relaxing Pillow Mist ($34.50 CAD) and the Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask ($62.50 CAD for eight 4ml masks).

Sothys nO2ctuelle Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask

A little bit about the Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask:

A formula packed with stabilized anti-ageing vitamin C plant extracts from oxygen-like nasturtium and active ingredients to capture light and promote skin wellness.

Ideally, apply 1 to 2 times per week instead of your usual cream and leave on the face and neck for 10 minutes. A new beauty routine and a first step toward letting go with a subtle fragrance that beckons sleep. A trifecta of citrus fruits are layered over a base of cedar and musk.

With vitamin C, nasturtium, chaste tree and lindera extracts, the Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask reduces the signs of ageing with a smoothing effect you can see from the first application. It requires a specific massage to improve its benefits: apply it with flattened palms to relaxing pressure points form the forehead to the base of the neck. Skin is visibly replenished and relieved from fatigue when you awaken.

Sothys nO2ctuelle Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask

I was able to get several uses from each of the mask packs that I received. Each time I used the Chrono-Destressing Sleeping Mask I woke up with glowing and smooth skin! I do wish that I had more packages of the sleeping mask, so I could test it out for a longer period of time!

Scent-wise it is very spa-like with its citrus, and cedar blend. I really cannot smell the musk (thankfully, as I don’t enjoy musk scents). The scent is very mild and disappears as the mask soaks into the skin. The fragrance did not trigger any sensitive skin reactions for me.

Sothys is available at institutes and spas across Canada (and worldwide).

I’ve previously reviewed some makeup from Sothys Fall Winter 2017 Collection (here) and their Crème Jeunesse / Youth Cream (here) if you want to check it out.

Monthly Empties – March 2018

Hello, hello!

Today I’d like to share my monthly empties with you. I’ve been making great progress in using up products in my stash and only purchasing replacements as I use things up!

Empties March 2018

Natura Siberica Saaremaa Moisturizing Hand Cream – I’ve been using this hand cream since I was gifted it when we were in Estonia in August. I’m sad that this one is empty, it was so good! Hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on another tube via the Mr’s Eestie family. Review is here. (Gift from family)

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream – This small pot of cream was heaven-sent! I used this one up during our cold snap and it really helped with any dry patches. Review is here. (Petit Vour subscription paid for by me)

The Ordinary Argireline Solution – At first I wasn’t sure that this watery serum was doing anything, but I noticed a difference after around 2 to 3 months. I use it on my forehead and around my mouth. I just got a backup of this one. Review is here. (Purchased by me)

Naruko Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Sheet Mask – I actually remembered to keep the package for my monthly empties! This facial mask is gloriously rose scented and super hydrating. There is tons of essence / serum. I think I only have one more of these masks in my stash. Review is here. (PR Sample)

Sothys Crème Jeunesse / Youth Cream – This was such a beautiful facial cream. I used it day and night all winter. Very rich and hydrating without feeling heavy or greasy. Review is here. (PR Sample)

Farmacy Beauty Clear Bloom Cleansing Oil – This was probably the first cleansing oil that I had ever used. It works so well to effectively yet gently remove makeup and deep clean the skin without drying it out. I’m currently using the Farmacy Green Clean Balm, so I don’t need to replace this one just yet. Review is here. (Purchased by me)

The Ordinary HA 2% Serum – This might be the second or third bottle that I’ve used up. Since a lot fo the products that I use have HA in them, I don’t feel that I need to replace this for the hopefully upcoming warmer weather, but will probably return to this serum in the colder months. Review is here. (Purchased by me)

Makeup & Essential Oils

Empties March 2018

Now Essential Oils Peaceful Sleep / Peaceful Night Blend – This one is used nightly at our house. It is a lovely blend of orange, tangerine, lavender, chammomile, ylang ylang and sandalwood. I’ve already re-purchased the 30ml bottle. (Purchased by me).

Essence Volume Styliste 18h Curl & Hold Mascara – I liked this mascara, but I prefer the False Lash one better. Review is here. (Purchased by me).

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream – This was great because it has a high SPF, but I want something with lighter coverage. Plus I’ve had it since 2015, so it was time to get rid of it. Review is here (Purchased by me).

Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Nude Cream – I never wear this pink toned nude lipstick, and the scent is starting to go off, so it is time to declutter this one from my stash. Review is here. (Purchased by me).

Empties March 2018

So there you have it, I think that I made great progress in working my way through my stash this month! How about you, have you finished up much this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure – all products have been identified as being either gifted (from family), PR, or purchased by me.

I’m still managing to keep up with the Yoga With Adriene YWA True daily practices so far. Nearly at the half-way mark for the 30 days!

I bought myself a new pair of winter boots because my old pair was not warm and were heavy and so uncomfortable.

Columbia Minx Mid Boots

These are the Columbia Minx Mid boots, and they have are waterproof, breathable, and toasty warm (up to -25F / -32C). They are super lightweight and the soles feel bouncy!

Best of 2017 – Makeup

Hello, hello!

Today I’m sharing my top makeup picks for 2017. These are all new to me products that I’ve tested out during the year, and do not include any old favourites. These products are the most used, and most loved additions to my makeup collection in 2017.

Best of 2017 Makeup

Masion Jacynthe Fluide de Teint / Fluid Foundation (PR Sample) – This is the perfect foundation for this time of year when my skin needs extra moisture as this is a hydrating and dewy finish foundation. I’ve been adding in a little of one of my paler foundations to get a perfect shade match for my winter pale skin. Reviewed here.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation – This is a great all year round foundation as it contains some SPF, and is lightweight, with what I would call a semi-matte finish (not a super flat matte). I have this in two shades (1.2P and 1.1N). I’d like to try the 1.1P next. Lately I’ve been mixing the two together to make the perfect shade for me! Reviewed here and here.

Milani The Multitasker Face Powder – I use this powder to set my Maison Jacynthe Fluid Foundation, to make the finish is little less dewy, and to cut down on shine on my nose for other foundations. Reviewed here.

Maison Jacynthe Illuminateur / Illuminator  (PR Sample) – I have this in the shade Sparkling Sun, a pale gold toned highlighter. It is great for adding a subtle glow to the skin. Out of all the highlighters that I own, I seem to use this one the most. Reviewed here.

Hey Honey Active Propolis Cream Concealer – This concealer works so well for the under eye area as it hydrates and conceals. Reviewed here.

Best of 2017 Makeup

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks in Pepper, Rhubarb, and Verbena – I’ve been wearing these lipsticks ALL THE TIME since purchasing my first one in the spring. The best lipstick formula I’ve ever tried. Reviewed here, here and here.

Sothys Paris Velvet Effect Lipstick in Rose le Pic (PR Sample) – This lipstick formula comes close to the perfection of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick. It is a very wearable rose shade that I’ve been wearing a lot. Reviewed here.

Essence Cosmetics The False Lashes Mascara – This is the best non-waterproof mascara I’ve ever tried. My eyes water easily, so most non-waterproof mascaras are a no-go for me. This one has everything I look for in a mascara – deep, dark, ultra black, volumizing, lengthening, AND hold a curl without flaking or running / smearing. I need to pick up a new tube asap! Reviewed here.

What were your most favourite products for 2017?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: All PR Samples identified, the rest have been purchased by me. My opinion is my own.

Sothys Crème Jeunesse / Youth Cream Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Crème Jeunesse  (Youth Cream) from Sothys Paris. Their Canadian PR team had me fill out a skin questionnaire and sent me one of the Youth Creams (Crème Jeunesse) to try out based on my answers.

Sothys Youth Cream

There are five different Youth Cream formulations –Vitality (fix for fine lines, loss of radiance), Wrinkle-Targeting (extend for wrinkles and tone), Firming (revive, loss of firmness, wrinkles),Restructuring (restore for slackening, dark spots, wrinkles), and Redensifying (regenerate for loss of vitality). I received a full sized jar of the Wrinkle-Targeting Youth Cream (Crème Jeunesse Rides Confort), as well as two sample sized tubes of the Redensifying and Restructuring Youth Creams. [Info in italics taken from the Sothys Paris website and Youth Cream Press Release]

The Wrinkle-Targeting Youth Cream is supposed to visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles, maintain the skin tone and preserve an even complexion.

Sothys Youth Creams / Crèmes Jeunesse contain BP3 Tri-Complex which combines two botanical active ingredients with new generation peptides […]taking a double action on the signs of aging: 1. Fight against oxidative stress. 2. Fight the signs of chronological aging. The polyphenols come from Saffron flowers.

Sothys Youth Cream

I started using the Youth Cream in the mornings for a few days on its own, before combining it with my usual morning serums. I then started using it at night on its own for a few days, before combining it with my evening serums.

The Youth Cream has a very mild scent – it reminds me of a cream that my grandmother had when I was a child – although I cannot recall what cream it was. It is mild enough that it doesn’t bother me.

Sothys Youth Cream

It is a rich facial cream, the comfort texture is geared more for drier skins and the light texture for normal to oily skin. I have the comfort texture and it is perfect for the colder weather as my skin tends to be dry at this time of year. I think that it would be too heavy for my skin in the summer months.

I think that the Youth Cream works well for smoothing out fine lines, and it works very well for hydration and combatting dry skin. My only complaint is that when I wear it with certain foundations, I find that I cannot skip setting my foundation with powder, or else my skin will look shiny in the t-zone (especially my nose).

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: PR samples, however my opinion is very much my own.
