Three Ships Beauty Awake Rose Hydrosol Toner Review

Three Ships Beauty Awake Rose Hydrosol Toner

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a review of the Three Ships Beauty Awake Rose Hydrosol Toner. I purchased it during their 5th Birthday Event, along with the Soothe Rosehip Vitamin C Clay Mask. [info in italics taken from the Three Ships Beauty website]

Three Ships Beauty Awake Rose Hydrosol Toner

Rose hydrosol helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and hyperpigmentation while also maintaining the skin’s pH balance after cleansing.

Look closer: this toner also contains alcohol-free witch hazel, which shrinks the appearance of pores without leaving your skin feeling tight and parched.

This toner has a great sprayer – the mist of so fine. And hello – rose! I love rose in skincare. This is a great addition to my skincare routine. I tend to use it more in the morning, but it can be used both morning and night. It is just so fresh!

I can see myself using it as a skin refresher when the weather warms up.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Review

Hello, hello!

I finally managed to try out the Glycolic Acid Toner from The Ordinary! It was out of stock every time I wanted to place an order (until last month). [all info in italics taken from their website]

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates the skin. This 7% toning solution offers mild exfoliation for improved skin radiance and visible clarity. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture with continued use.

This formula contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with acid use. This derivative is of plant origin and varies in colour seasonally and this colour variation may be apparent in the formula from time to time. The formula is further supported with inclusion of ginseng root and aloe vera for both visible radiance and soothing benefits.

Contraindications: This formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin.

Ok – although it says that it is not recommended for sensitive skin, I decided to try it anyway at my own risk despite having sensitive skin. As always, I tested it on my arm, and then on my neck before trying it on my face.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

Thankfully this toner did not irritate my skin. In fact, I find it to be soothing – likely due to the combination of ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Glycolic Acid, Rosa damascena flower water, Centaurea cyanus flower water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Propanediol, Glycerin, Triethanolamine, Aminomethyl Propanol, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit/Leaf Extract, Aspartic Acid, Alanine, Glycine, Serine, Valine, Isoleucine, Proline, Threonine, Histidine, Phenylalanine, Glutamic Acid, Arginine, PCA, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Fructose, Glucose, Sucrose, Urea, Hexyl Nicotinate, Dextrin, Citric Acid, Polysorbate 20, Gellan Gum, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Chloride, Hexylene Glycol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

I’ve been using the Glycolic Acid Toner every second night, to minimize the risk of irritating my sensitive skin. I’ve been using this toner for two weeks now, and it seems to be helping prevent my skin from looking dull.

Have you tried this Glycolic Acid Toner? I’ve yet to try the one from Pixi, so I don’t know how they compare, but for $8.70 CAD, it was well worth giving it a try!

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing Sukin’s Hydrating Mist Toner.

This alcohol-free, skin hydrating mist combines chamomile and rosewater to help soothe, tone and cool tired skin. Use after cleansing or whenever your skin feels tired or stressed. Perfect for hot days or days spent in an air-conditioned environment.

Here’s the ingredient list:

Water (Aqua), Rosa Damascena Flower Water (Rose), Glycerin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract (Chamomile), Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol.

My Experience:

This toner mist is so lovely, gentle and hydrating! It will be so amazing when the weather heats up as a skin refresher! The toner mist has a mild rose scent (which you all know that I absolutely love). These days I just spritz my face after cleansing, before I apply my serums / moisturizers.
