Empties October 2019

Empties Oct 2019 - Buck Naked Soap Company, Native Deodorant, The Seaweed Bath Co., Moon Rivers Naturals

Hello, hello!

Another month of empties that I managed to finish up from my stash. I’ll link to the original reviews and let you know if I would re-purchase or not (immediately or eventually).

Bath + Bodycare:

Empties Oct 2019 - Buck Naked Soap Company, Native Deodorant, The Seaweed Bath Co., Moon Rivers Naturals

Buck Naked Soap Company Geranium + Purple Clay Sugar Scrub – This was gifted to me, and I loved it so much. I plan on getting myself a replacement the next time I do a haul from well.ca. Review is here.

Native Deodorant Vanilla & Rose – I’ve been using Native for over a year now, and it works well for my body chemistry. I have a few in various scents in my stash, so no need to repurchase just yet. Reviews are here and the sensitive formula here.

The Seaweed Bath Co. Firming Detox Cream – This was from a recent Petit Vour box. I really liked this body cram a lot, and would love to have a full size. I have some other body lotions and creams to use up, so for now it is a wishlist item. Review is here.

Moon Rivers Naturals Peppermint Lava Salt Hand + Body Soap – This was also from a recent Petit Vour box. I loved this shower gel, it smelled so good. I have other soaps / shower gels to use up, so I won’t be buying a full size right now, but probably would eventually. Review is here.

Skincare + Makeup:

Empties Oct 2019 - Ursa Major, Covergirl, Lily Lolo, Goldfaden MD, Cosmessential

Ursa Major Bright & Easy Flash Mask – This was a Petit Vour box sample. I really loved this mask. It worked so well on my sensitive skin and made it look so bright! A definite wishlist item as I have more skincare to use up. Review is here.

Covergirl The Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara – This mascara was good, but not a holy grail for me, so I won’t repurchase this particular one, but will likely buy a different one from Covergirl to try. Review is here.

Lily Lolo Makeup Mist – This was a nice setting spray that came in my Petit Vour subscription, I used it more as a facial mist than as a makeup setting spray. I’m currently testing out another makeup setting spray and a few toner mists so no need to replace. Review is here.

Goldfaden MD Needle-less Line Smoothing Concentrate – Another Petit Vour sample that I loved! I’m still using up a few serums, but would love to eventually get a full size of this one! Review is here.

Cosmessential Essential C Serum – This was a PR sample. My skin loved this Vitamin C based serum, so onto the wishlist it goes as I have several serums that I need to finish up. Review is here.

Did you finish up much this month?

Today I’m reviewing the Bright & Easy Flash Mask from Ursa Major that came in my July Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Ursa Major Bright & Easy Flash Mask

This gentle but oh-so-effective “flash” enzyme face treatment quickly exfoliates dead surface skin while accelerating turnover to enhance the appearance of skin’s tone, elasticity, luminosity and firmness – all without the irritation associated with harsh scrubs or chemical peels. even with sensitive skin

Aroma: A breezy, tropical blend with hints of pineapple, coffee and orange.
The plant-derived enzyme complex is infused with probiotics to improve the formula’s potency and stability.

Ursa Major Bright & Easy Flash Mask

This is probably one of the most gentle facial enzyme peel type masks that I’ve ever used – not a tingle was felt by my sensitive skin! It feels fresh and cooling when applied, and the scent is mild and sweetly tropical. My skin feels so bright and smooth after using it!

Petit Vour Unboxing + First Impressions July 2019

Hello, hello!

My July Petit Vour box finally arrived on  July 31st. I often show my Petit Vour box on my InstaGram, but here on the blog you will get the unboxing AND first impressions. Full reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test things out. [info in italics is taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour July 2019

Petit Vour is a cruelty-free and vegan monthly subscription box with four (occasionally five) products. The subscription is $18 USD a month in the US, $23 USD for Canada, and $25 USD for the rest of the world. With the exchange rate @1.3408  my box cost me $30.84 CAD this month.

Petit Vour July 2019

Let’s take a closer look at what was in this month’s Petit Vour box:

Petit Vour July 2019

Tere Mère Smudge-Proof Anti-Aging Eye Shadow Base (full size $36 USD)

Petit Vour July 2019

A creamy lightweight primer that glides on seamlessly, creating a waterproof canvas for cream and powder eye color, so your make-up stays fresh, vibrant and crease-free all day. The primer contains miniscule optical blurring pigments which diffuse light, giving your skin tone a flawless finish. The innovative anti-aging formula brightens and hydrates the skin, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and improving elasticity.

Perfect timing, my current shadow primer is pretty old and nearly used up. This one sounds great!

Kalos After Hours Soothing Night Cream (full size 1.7oz $44 USD , sample size 0.5oz $11 USD)

Petit Vour July 2019

A soothing pH balanced crème for vulnerable skin. Natural oils and botanicals gently hydrate and soothe the skin while Vitamin C & E provide antioxidant protection. Nightly use helps irritated and stressed skin quickly regain glow and vibrancy.

This night cream sounds perfect for me!

French Girl Organics Lait de Rose Vitamin C Polishing Wash (full size 1.35oz $40 USD, sample size 0.85oz $15 USD)

Petit Vour July 2019

Lait De Rose is a facial exfoliant rich in Vitamin-C. The powder-based polishing wash is waterless, as to be mindful of our environmental impact, and promotes healthy aging by increasing collagen production and helping to repair damaged skin. Plus, it looks, feels, and smells amazing.

Lait De Rose is hand-made with all-natural ingredients. Kakadu Plum, a superfruit that contains the highest known Vitamin-C levels of any natural food source in the world, works with Watermelon Powder to brighten skin by stimulating collagen production and cell regeneration. White Willow Bark Extract acts as an enzymatic exfoliator removing impurities on the cellular level, while finely-milled Bamboo and Pomegranate Enzyme Powders act as gentle physical exfoliators. Coconut Milk Powder, from which the luxurious product gets its name, softens and deeply nourishes skin. Suitable for all skin types.

I love skincare products, and this one sounds pretty gentle, I can’t wait to try it!

Ursa Major Bright & Easy 3-Minute Flash Mask (full size 1.7oz $44 USD, sample size size approx 0.25oz $6 USD)

Petit Vour July 2019

This gentle but oh-so-effective “flash” enzyme face treatment quickly exfoliates dead surface skin while accelerating turnover to enhance the appearance of skin’s tone, elasticity, luminosity and firmness – all without the irritation associated with harsh scrubs or chemical peels. If the texture and aroma don’t knock your socks off, the results definitely will!

  • AHAs, BHAs and enzymes clarify and
    brighten skin
  • Boosts the appearance of skin’s firmness
    and elasticity
  • Evens the look of skin tone and texture
  • Easy to use and rinses clean
  • Works (wonders) for all skin types,
    even with sensitive skin

Aroma: A breezy, tropical blend with hints of pineapple, coffee and orange.
The plant-derived enzyme complex is infused with probiotics to improve the formula’s potency and stability.

Facial masks are one of my absolute favourite skincare products. Hopefully this will be ok for my sensitive skin.

Petit Vour July 2019

This month’s box is worth $68 USD which works out to $91.17 CAD! I really think this month’s box looks really great and I cannot wait to try everything out and let you know what I think of it all. Reviews to follow as soon as I test everything out.

What do you think of this month’s Petit Vour box?

Empties – August 2018

Hello, hello!

Another month of product empties – I think that I made pretty good progress at finishing things up this past month. Let’s take a look:

Empties August 2018

Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection – I don’t blow dry my hair often in the warmer months, and I have a few more hair products in my stash right now, so I don’t need to replace this. Review is here.

Attitude Super Leaves Colour Protection Conditioner – I’m not quite finished the matching shampoo. I will likely repurchase both once I use up another set in my stash. Review is here.

Now Essential Oils in Eucalyptus and Peppermint – Already repurchased!

Zabana Essentials Baking Soda Free Deodorant – This worked for a few hours on my before crapping out. I only used it if I was working from home to give my underarms a break. I’m currently using the Sensitive Formula Deodorant from Native as it has longer staying power for me. Reviews are here and here.

Empties August 2018Ursa Major 4-in-1 Essential Face Wipes – I’m not a facial wipe person, so I was mainly just using these as a preliminary step in cleansing as I just don’t feel that a wipe will get my face super clean. Review is here.

Poetic Blend Ghost Oil – I loved this light facial oil! If I didn’t have a few oils in my stash to use up, I would purchase a full size of this one. Review is here.

Lily de Mai Renew Restorative Calming Cream Cleanser [pr sample] – I’m sad that I finished this cleanser, it was so lovely and gentle. Probably my favourite cleanser for 2018. I’m still working my way through several cleansers in my stash, so I will not be replacing this right now – but it is going to the top of my wishlist! Review is here.

MüN Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner – I love facial mists / toners and have a few in my fridge right now (two or three) so I don’t need to buy a replacement. Review is here.

My two facial powders are STILL GOING! Here’s the wet n wild one:

StillNotEmptyAug18

Hopefully I’ll finish this one up by the end of the year, haha!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure – Most things purchased by me, all PR samples are identified. My opinion is very much my own.

Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes that came in my July Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

These award-winning, individually-wrapped bamboo face wipes are the ultimate skin care multi-taskers. Infused with a generous dose of the 4-in-1 Essential Face Tonic formula, they clean, exfoliate, soothe and hydrate – leaving your skin feeling refreshed, firm and alive.

  • Removes oil and grime without stripping
    skin of moisture
  • Exfoliates dead skin, brightens and clarifies (AHA/BHA complex)
  • Soothes and hydrates (no shine or sticky residue)
  • Perfect for sprucing up on the go
  • Works great for all skin types
  • Same formula as the 4-in-1 Essential Face Tonic

Aroma: Refreshing medicinal brew spiked with orange, fir and lavender.

Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes

I’m not usually a big fan of wipes as a one-step daily cleansing method, but will use them in a double cleanse process occasionally. These ones are nice and gentle, and make my skin feel clean and hydrated. They aren’t sticky like most facial wipes that I’ve tried. I really don’t like it when wipes leave a soapy residue feeling on the skin. I’ll be stashing two of them away for a weekend getaway!

Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Water/Aqua/Eau, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Pulp Water*, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf /Flower Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin, Levulinic Acid, Sodium Levulinate, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Fruit/Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Seed Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Betula Alba (Birch) Sap, Lactobacillus/Arundinaria Gigantea (Bamboo) Ferment Filtrate, Caprylyl/Capryl Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides, Fusel Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides, Polyglyceryl-5 Oleate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Pseudotsuga Menziesii (Fir) Needle Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Oil*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Leaf/Flower Oil*, Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Resin Extract, Alcohol Denatured* | *Certified Organic   Wipe Substrate: 100% bamboo fiber

Do you use facial wipes?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Petit Vour Unboxing & First Impressions – July 2018

Hello, hello!

My Petit Vour box finally arrived! This is just an unboxing and first impressions as I’ve not yet had the chance to test things out. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour is a cruelty-free and vegan monthly subscription box with four (occasionally five) products. The subscription is $18 USD a month in the U.S., $23 USD for Canada, and $25 USD for the rest of the world. With the exchange rate (1.3495) my box cost me $31.04 CAD this month

Let’s take a look inside to see what I got this month:

Unboxing Petit Vour July 2018

Unboxing Petit Vour July 2018

This informational month’s card is not the usual beautiful watercolour print – I really love the watercolour art cards.

Unboxing Petit Vour July 2018

Osea Malibu – Essential Hydrating Oil – sample size 0.34 oz $32 USD, full size 1 oz $68 USD

Unboxing Petit Vour July 2018

This ultra-hydrating botanical oil restores a healthy luster to the skin. Naturally rich Jojoba and Sesame seed oils deliver advanced hydration, visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. A precious blend of pure Lavender, Rosewood and Geranium essential oils provide a dewy, illuminated complexion and create a gorgeous aromatic allure. The perfect instant surge of hydration for a beautiful, radiant glow. Skin Type: All Skin Types / Age Defying

I love facial oils, and since this one is for hydration and fine lines, I’m excited to try this one out. I like that the sample size is large enough for several uses.

Lilah B. Beauty – Divine Duo – Lip & Check Set – sample size of three shades $4 USD, full size single color $46 USD

Double your pleasure with this multi-purpose, creamy lip and cheek duo with a luxurious matte finish. Long-wearing, yet creamy and moisturizing, this innovative formulation provides blend-able and buildable color – perfect for day and night. Apply as a cream eyeshadow for the ultimate multitasker.

Available in the following shades:

  • b. fearless – red
  • b. sassy – bright pink
  • b. daring – coral
  • b. true – mauve
  • b. real – light pink
  • b. memorable – wine
  • b. lovely – nude
  • b. dazzling – champagne shimmer

This is a blister pack of three shades (b. real, b. fearless, and b. sassy).  This one is kind of a dud value-wise for me as this is something that I would get from Sephora as a free sample. The colours are nice, and I’m sure that it is a lovely product, but come on…

Ursa Major – 4-in-1 Essential Face Wipes – sample size pack of 5 wipes $7 USD, full size pack of 20 wipes $24 USD

Unboxing Petit Vour July 2018

These award-winning, individually-wrapped bamboo face wipes are the ultimate skin care multi-taskers. Infused with a generous dose of the 4-in-1 Essential Face Tonic formula, they clean, exfoliate, soothe and hydrate – leaving your skin feeling refreshed, firm and alive.

These will be great for freshening up, very travel friendly. I’m happy to try this out!

Little Barn Apothecary – Aloe + Rosewater Balance Mist – sample size 1 oz $8 USD, travel size 2 oz $16 USD, full size 4 oz $32 USD

Unboxing Petit Vour July 2018

A supercharged replenishing and nourishing facial mist with the added benefits of natural botanicals – rose, aloe, hibiscus and witch hazel. This unique combination provides the skin with antioxidant protection known widely to assist in supporting the skin’s own collagen production.

Aromas: Deep floral & fresh.

I love facial mists. And this one is rosewater based, so I’m likely to fall in love with it! I’m going to pop this in the fridge and try it out in a few hours.

Unboxing Petit Vour July 2018

Total value of this month’s box = $51 USD ($68.82 CAD). Overall my first impression is that this month’s box is a mostly good one – three potentially awesome things, and one woefully small sample. Reviews to follow as soon as I test everything out.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: I pay for this monthly subscription.

Monthly Empties – March 2018

Hello, hello!

Today I’d like to share my monthly empties with you. I’ve been making great progress in using up products in my stash and only purchasing replacements as I use things up!

Skincare:

Empties March 2018

Natura Siberica Saaremaa Moisturizing Hand Cream – I’ve been using this hand cream since I was gifted it when we were in Estonia in August. I’m sad that this one is empty, it was so good! Hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on another tube via the Mr’s Eestie family. Review is here. (Gift from family)

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream – This small pot of cream was heaven-sent! I used this one up during our cold snap and it really helped with any dry patches. Review is here. (Petit Vour subscription paid for by me)

The Ordinary Argireline Solution – At first I wasn’t sure that this watery serum was doing anything, but I noticed a difference after around 2 to 3 months. I use it on my forehead and around my mouth. I just got a backup of this one. Review is here. (Purchased by me)

Naruko Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Sheet Mask – I actually remembered to keep the package for my monthly empties! This facial mask is gloriously rose scented and super hydrating. There is tons of essence / serum. I think I only have one more of these masks in my stash. Review is here. (PR Sample)

Sothys Crème Jeunesse / Youth Cream – This was such a beautiful facial cream. I used it day and night all winter. Very rich and hydrating without feeling heavy or greasy. Review is here. (PR Sample)

Farmacy Beauty Clear Bloom Cleansing Oil – This was probably the first cleansing oil that I had ever used. It works so well to effectively yet gently remove makeup and deep clean the skin without drying it out. I’m currently using the Farmacy Green Clean Balm, so I don’t need to replace this one just yet. Review is here. (Purchased by me)

The Ordinary HA 2% Serum – This might be the second or third bottle that I’ve used up. Since a lot fo the products that I use have HA in them, I don’t feel that I need to replace this for the hopefully upcoming warmer weather, but will probably return to this serum in the colder months. Review is here. (Purchased by me)

Makeup & Essential Oils

Empties March 2018

Now Essential Oils Peaceful Sleep / Peaceful Night Blend – This one is used nightly at our house. It is a lovely blend of orange, tangerine, lavender, chammomile, ylang ylang and sandalwood. I’ve already re-purchased the 30ml bottle. (Purchased by me).

Essence Volume Styliste 18h Curl & Hold Mascara – I liked this mascara, but I prefer the False Lash one better. Review is here. (Purchased by me).

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream – This was great because it has a high SPF, but I want something with lighter coverage. Plus I’ve had it since 2015, so it was time to get rid of it. Review is here (Purchased by me).

Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Nude Cream – I never wear this pink toned nude lipstick, and the scent is starting to go off, so it is time to declutter this one from my stash. Review is here. (Purchased by me).

Empties March 2018

So there you have it, I think that I made great progress in working my way through my stash this month! How about you, have you finished up much this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure – all products have been identified as being either gifted (from family), PR, or purchased by me.

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Golden Hour Recovery Cream from Ursa Major that came in December’s Petit Vour subscription box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

This intensely hydrating yet fast-absorbing face cream provides deep hydration and nourishment to soothe and replenish weary skin. Use it as a daily moisturizer, as a “wrinkle-busting” night cream or anytime your skin needs extra TLC. Works great for all skin types; especially recommended for anyone recovering from prolonged exposure to the elements.

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

  • Delivers intense hydration without feeling heavy
  • Helps combat the visible signs of aging
  • Reduces the appearance of redness and uneven skin tone
  • Soothes irritation from dryness and exposure to the elements
  • Works for all skin types, especially dry, sensitive or neglected skin

Aroma: Neroli, sandalwood and a touch of sour rose anchored with fresh-soaked earth.

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

This golden hued facial cream arrived during a deep freeze, so my skin needed the extra boost of moisture. It is super hydrating, but not heavy or greasy. The scent is mild and earthy – but I don’t get the sour rose scent at all.

It works well for both day and night, and plays nicely with my foundation. All in all a lovely facial cream, perfect for cold weather.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
