Empties – August 2018

Hello, hello!

Another month of product empties – I think that I made pretty good progress at finishing things up this past month. Let’s take a look:

Empties August 2018

Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection – I don’t blow dry my hair often in the warmer months, and I have a few more hair products in my stash right now, so I don’t need to replace this. Review is here.

Attitude Super Leaves Colour Protection Conditioner – I’m not quite finished the matching shampoo. I will likely repurchase both once I use up another set in my stash. Review is here.

Now Essential Oils in Eucalyptus and Peppermint – Already repurchased!

Zabana Essentials Baking Soda Free Deodorant – This worked for a few hours on my before crapping out. I only used it if I was working from home to give my underarms a break. I’m currently using the Sensitive Formula Deodorant from Native as it has longer staying power for me. Reviews are here and here.

Empties August 2018Ursa Major 4-in-1 Essential Face Wipes – I’m not a facial wipe person, so I was mainly just using these as a preliminary step in cleansing as I just don’t feel that a wipe will get my face super clean. Review is here.

Poetic Blend Ghost Oil – I loved this light facial oil! If I didn’t have a few oils in my stash to use up, I would purchase a full size of this one. Review is here.

Lily de Mai Renew Restorative Calming Cream Cleanser [pr sample] – I’m sad that I finished this cleanser, it was so lovely and gentle. Probably my favourite cleanser for 2018. I’m still working my way through several cleansers in my stash, so I will not be replacing this right now – but it is going to the top of my wishlist! Review is here.

MüN Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner – I love facial mists / toners and have a few in my fridge right now (two or three) so I don’t need to buy a replacement. Review is here.

My two facial powders are STILL GOING! Here’s the wet n wild one:

StillNotEmptyAug18

Hopefully I’ll finish this one up by the end of the year, haha!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure – Most things purchased by me, all PR samples are identified. My opinion is very much my own.

June 2018 Empties

Hello, hello!

I cannot believe it is July already! This month I didn’t finish up as many products as I had hoped, once again, there are so many things that are NEARLY but not quite finished.

Let’s take a look – it is only body and skincare as I haven’t continued going through and decluttering my lipsticks.

Bath and Body Empties:

Empties June 2018

Wildcraft Buff Face and Body Scrub – I love this exfoliating scrub for body use as my face is far too sensitive for this type of exfoliation. It smells like spearmint in a refreshing and non-toothpaste way! I’ll be replacing this as soon as I use up a few more things in my stash. Review is here.

Tom’s Of Maine Deodorant in Soothing Calendula – This deodorant is NOT for me. It worked great at first but it seemed that the longer that I used it, the worse that it worked for me. I’ve heard that it works amazing for some people. I’ve been trying to use this up for so long – and only using it on days that I was working from home. Review is here.

EIR NYC Sunset Oil – This came in my May Petit Vour box. I absolutely loved this body oil for when I got out of the shower. I’m hoping to find something similar but a little more budget friendly. Review is here.

Skincare Empties:

Empties June 2018

Zabana Essentials Banana and Colloidal Oatmeal Face Mask + Scrub – I really liked this facial mask that came in my May Petit Vour box. The sample pack was large enough to get at least 6 to 8 uses! I have things to use up in my stash so I won’t be buying a full size of this one right now. Review is here.

Shamanuti Pumpkin Enzyme Masque – Another Petit Vour product. This was a great mask, but I can find another, more budget friendly dupe. Again, no rush to try to find a dupe for it as I am still working my way through my stash. Review is here.

Ingenium Naturals Tsubaki Oil – This was a great multi-purpose oil. I’ve used it on my face, in my hair, and even in the bath. I have a bunch of oils to use up, so I won’t be replacing this right now. This was a PR sample. Review is here.

Andalou Naturals Goji Peptide Perfecting Cream – This was also from a Petit Vour box. The sample was small, so I could only give first impressions on this facial cream. Again, I have several things to use up in my stash so no need to buy a full size to test right now. Review is here.

Nearly Finished:

Empties June 2018

Wet N Wild Photofocus Pressed Powder – I hit pan on this last month, and it is still hanging on! Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it up in July. Review is here.

So there you have it – all the things that I’ve managed to finish this month. Not as much as I had hoped, but progress is progress. Did you finish up much this month?

Empties June 2018

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: All purchased by me except for the Wildcraft Buff (gift from a friend) and the Ingenium Naturals Tsubaki Oil (PR sample).

Zabana Essentials Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Face Mask + Scrub Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Zabana Essentials Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Face Mask + Scrub that came in my May Petit Vour subscription box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour May 2018 Unboxing

Say goodbye to dry skin! Banana & Colloidal Oatmeal work as a mild and soothing powerhouse duo to hydrate, soothe, repair, and pamper the driest skin. Rich in Vitamin A, Potassium, and Silica skin proteins that will instantly reveal a smooth complexion and your natural glow.

Zabana Essentials Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Hydrating & Rejuvenating Face Mask + Scrub

This facial scrub – mask combo looks and feels a lot like a sugar scrub in texture. You apply it to wet skin, and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes and then massage it into the skin before rinsing it off. The facial mask + scrub is super gentle, and my skin felt so soft and hydrated after rinsing it off!

The sample pack contains enough of the mask-scrub for several uses, which I really like, because I prefer to use a product several times in order to have a solid opinion on how a product works for my sensitive skin.

The full size sells for $25 USD for a 2 oz jar, the sample foil pack contains 1 oz of product (worth $12.50 USD).

Zabana Essentials Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Hydrating & Rejuvenating Face Mask + Scrub

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Rhassoul Clay, *Musa (Banana) Powder, *Avena Sativa (Colloidal Oatmeal) Powder,  *Maranta (Arrowroot) Arundinacea Powder, *Sucrose (Sugar), Nucifera Prunus Dulcis (Almond) Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Essential Oil, *Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail) Plant Extract | *Certified Organic Ingredients.

Have you tried this hybrid facial mask and scrub?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Zabana Essentials Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Face Mask (sample size $12.50 for 1 oz, full size $25 USD for 2 oz)

This facial mask sounds amazing, I can’t wait to try it out. I think that I’ve liked everything that I’ve tried from Zabana Essentials. My most recent one was the Tamanu Calendula Healing Anti-Blemish Face Balm that came in my February Petit Vour box, and I’m still using it (review is here)

Eir NYC Sunset Oil (sample size $7 for 1 oz, full size $35 USD for 8oz)

Petit Vour May 2018 Unboxing

An essential for beach bums, this arnica and aloe-infused body oil contains soothing essential oils and vitamins to restore parched skin damaged by the sun, salt, and wind. For everyday use or to be applied post-sun to keep skin extra-moisturized.

Oooh, arnica and aloe are such great healing ingredients, I can’t wait to try this one out!

Au Naturale Cosmetics Color Theory Creme Corrector ($24 USD full size)

Petit Vour May 2018 Unboxing

Au Naturale’s Color Theory Creme Correctors were designed using complementary color theory, (hues opposite to one another on the color wheel neutralize when mixed) in order to counter under eye circles, blemishes and other skin quirks.

The Creme Corrector is available in five different correcting shades: Linen, Peach, Flax, Sweet Basil and Lavender. Here’s the breakdown of what each shade is targeted for:

  • Linen – perfect for brightening the eye area and hiding signs of fatigue. Pink and peach concealers are best to combat dark under eye circles.
  • Peach – to hide dark circles or other spots for those with medium to dark skin tones.
  • Flax – to conceal purple or blue bruises, veins or under eye circles. Yellow concealers are the most versatile and are great for evening out skin tone and brightening complexions.
  • Sweet Basil – to neutralize any redness due to acne, scarring, rosacea, windburn or sunburn. Green concealers significantly reduce redness and give foundation an even base.
  • Lavender – to eliminate any unwanted yellow undertones/spots on your skin. Purple concealers will brighten pasty, dull or yellow complexions.

I received the shade Flax. I had a concealer from Au Naturale when I first stated blogging, and I remember really liking the formula (review is here). Hopefully I’ll love this one too!

Total value of this month’s box is $63.50 USD, and with the exchange rate that works out to be $84.09 CAD – wow!

Petit Vour May 2018 Unboxing

What do you think of this month’s box? I’m really happy with this month’s box, and can’t wait to test everything out! Reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test things out.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclaimer: I pay for my monthly Petit Vour subscription.

Wednesday, March 14th – Zabana Essentials Tamanu Calendula Face Balm Review

It is back to super cold weather here in Montreal, so my skin is freaking out. Thank goodness I have a stash of facial oils for extra hydration! Really hoping that this cold snap does not last very long. I need SPRING!

I finished up a few more products this week, I feel that I am really making progress in using up the products in my stash.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Zabana Essentials Tamanu Calendula Face Balm Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Tamanu Calendula Face Balm from Zabana Essentials that came in my February Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour February 2018

Combat acne, redness, scars, dermatitis, reduce lines and wrinkles with the Antioxidant rich Tamanu Calendula Face Balm. A divine potent blend of skin calming essentials that also reduces pore buildup, and provides balanced hydration. With continued use, reveal a fresh, smooth, clear, hydrated, and rejuvenated complexion.

Zabana Essentials Tamanu Calendula Face Balm

This feels similar to the Satya Organic Eczema Relief balm. It is super gentle.

My skin doesn’t break out very often, but last week I woke up with a pimple on my chin, so I put some of the Tamanu Calendula Face Balm on it, and it helped heal it really quickly, without any dryness.

It also works well on skin irritations, like dry patches or eczema. My underarms started to get a little irritated again from my deodorant, so I applied this balm on one side and the Satya on the other, and they both helped soothe and heal the irritation.

Ingredients: 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | *Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sun Flower) Oil, *Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, *Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Extract, *Curcuma Angustifolia (Arrowroot) Powder, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Essential Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Essential Oil, Cymbopogon Flexuosus (Lemongrass) Essential Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus) Essential Oil, Daucus Carota (Carrot Seed) Essential Oil, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Essential Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Essential Oil | *Certified Organic Ingredients.

Just a reminder, the box is $23 USD per box for Canada (it is $18 USD per month for the US, and $25 USD per month for all other countries). I’m using the exchange rate that I paid this month’s box in calculating the overall value – I paid $29.33 CAD for the February box.

Petit Vour February 2018

August 2016 Empties

August 2016 Empties

Hello, hello!

It’s time for my monthly empties post. I’ve really been trying to finish up some of the things in my stash rather than let them go to waste.

August 2016 Empties

Haircare:

August 2016 Empties

Haus of Gloi Hair Oil in Aether (unscented) – I have another one in my stash with the Cozy Sweater scent to use up. I really love this hair oil, and mostly use it in the cooler months. Original review is here.

Co Lab Dry Shampoo in Rio scent – This one has already been replaced. I finished one of these last month as well.

Zabana Essentials Dry Shampoo in Lavender Citrus Mint – It works really well, but I find the delivery system to be too messy, so I won’t be replacing this one. Original review is here.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream – This has been in my stash forever. I finally used it up! I won’t be replacing this one as I don’t think that this brand is cruelty free.

Skincare:

August 2016 Empties

Personnelle Brand Cosmetic Pads – Great for removing eye makeup and nail polish. I usually just buy whatever ones are one sale. These have already been replaced.

Oz Naturals Amino Herbal Hydration Mask – I really loved this mask. I haven’t replaced it yet, as I have a few facial masks to use up before I buy any new ones. Original review is here.

Not Soap, Radio When life gives you too many lemons (and you’ve misplaced your happy place…) Joy Inducing Hand / Body Lotion – I received this in my July Ipsy Glam Bag, and LOVED it. I have several hand and body lotions to use up, so I won’t be replacing this one for awhile, but it is added to my wish list. The review is here.

Make-up:

August 2016 Empties

Pur Volume Vixen 4-in-1 Mascara – I got this at the Generation Beauty event in May. This mascara doesn’t work well for me, and it has been abut 3 months since I first opened it, so it is going onto the trash. I won’t be replacing this one. Original review is here.

Brazen Triple Threat Antioxidant Skin Perfecting Primer – I got this primer just before I started blogging. Despite the brownish tone of this primer, it goes on clear. I really liked this primer but have a few in my stash to use up before even thinking about purchasing another one. I’ve never actually reviewed this primer.

So there you have it, all of my empties for the month of August. Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Reminder – My giveaway closes tomorrow at noon (eastern standard time). If you haven’t entered it yet, what are you waiting for? Go here to enter!

Disclosure: All things were purchased by me with the exception of the Pur mascara which I received at the Gen Beauty Event (that I purchased the ticket for).
